Cawthorne Young Farmers Club
Young Farmers is a national organisation of youth clubs for people aged 10 to 26 who are interested in the countryside. It's been running for over 50 years and nowadays has members from all walks of life - but it still holds on to its farming roots. Every club has its own character, and at Cawthorne we pride ourselves on being friendly, energetic and adventurous. We do everything from drama to football, from hockey to flower arranging, from cake making to dancing the salsa. Then there's ice skating, cinema trips, bowling, conservation projects, sheep shearing, calligraphy, public speaking, canoeing ... in fact, if the members want to do it, we do it. We have a really good social scene for older members too, with dances, discos and barbecues. Everyone shares lifts, so being stuck out in the middle of nowhere is never a problem!
