Barnsley School of Irish dancing has a friendly atmosphere where children of all ages can learn the traditional art of Irish Dancing to a very high standard as well as make friends and keep fit.
The children have many opportunities to perform their skills at local events including; The yearly Mayor's Parade, several cultural festivals, various locations on St Patrick's day and competitions.
Our Teacher Tamara Doherty took over the school in 2006 after retiring from twenty years of competitive dancing. Her achievements include qualifying at the world championships twelve times, since the age of nine, as well as being North Manchester champion and entering countless other competitions.
