One-to One Tuition: Making the Difference

We know that there are some children who, despite our best efforts, do not make the progress they need in a small group or whole class setting.  Without an idividualised approach it may be hard for these children to make the progress needed to achieve their full potential.  To support the needs of this group we in Barnsley are committed to the DFE's programme of One-to-One tuition for pupils falling behind in English or Mathematics.  We believe One-to-One tuition can make the difference for these pupils in enhancing their future life chances.

The One-to-One support materials detailed below are divided into 2 sections:

  • One-to-One Tutor Support Materials: to support tutors to work effectively in their role
  • Recruitment Support Materials: to support schools with the organisation and recruitment of One-to-One tutors
