What's New | Things To Do In (13 and over)

Borough of Barnsley Swimming Club is a competitive swimming club.  Join in if you are aged 7 or over and have already achieved your Dolphin 10 swimming award or equivalent and want to make new friends as well as learn to swim competitively.

For ages 10 to 14 years.

Girlguiding UK, as part of a worldwide Movement, enables girls and young women to fulfil their potential and to take an active and responsible role in society through its distinctive, stimulating and enjoyable programme of activities delivered by trained volunteer leaders.

It provides opportunities for girls and young women to:

·         be challenged by new adventures and experiences and achieve a sense of pride in accomplishment.

·         develop self-awareness, self-respect and self-confidence.

·         develop a personal faith and values to give life meaning and direction think for themselves, govern themselves and make their own decisions.

·         make friends and have fun in the family of Guiding.

·         develop a sense of tolerance, justice, kindness and honour learn teamwork and acquire leadership skills, working with and for others.

·         appreciate the environment and how to live in it.

·         understand and learn about the world, its people and cultures.

Guides are a group of girls aged 10 to 14, and there are millions of us around the world!

We get together regularly to do lots of exciting things and generally have a good laugh. We make friends, meet people, try new activities and learn new skills. Being a Guide means having more fun than ever before!

Rock Solid is an After-School Activity Club for young people aged between 11-15yrs.

Activities include Dance, Drama, Art and Crafts, Sport Games and Outward Bounds.

All those attending, as well as having great fun, learn the importance of respecting others and working as a team.  The EXODUS Project is a children’s charity, with a Christian ethos.

Girl guiding UK is a dynamic organisation with almost 600,000 members. We provide a unique girl-only space & we give girls a voice. Our learning & activity programmes are girl-led & constantly evolving to meet their ambitions.

At a vital time in girl's personal & social development, we provide a safe, inclusive space where they can be comfortable just being themselves. With the support of our volunteers, girls in guiding form close friendships, grow in self-confidence, learn new skills, gain new experiences & have fun. Guiding helps girls reach their potential, whatever their ability or background.
